:: The right compound

      With  the  exception of our extra coarse compounds  S2 und S3, all
      other S-compounds have been specially developed for the new and
      challenging  generation  of  scratch-resistant  clear coats (so-called
      nano-paints).

      All  S-compounds  are  compatible with  older paint systems (this is
      what we call “backwards compatible”)   and  give a perfect finish on       conventional paints as well.

      The  unique  single-step compound S17 can be used for virtually all
      finishing  work  on  scratch-resistant  paints,  from easy elimination
      of dust specks to the hologram-free final finish on dark paints.

:: The right sanding process

Our experience from the automobile industry shows that, when polishing tough,
scratch-resistant  paints, there are two recommendations which should be follo-
wed:

A) To remove paint defects on scratch-resistant clear coats, make sure you use
a finer grit sand paper than P2000. We recommend the use of a sanding tool, as
down in the picture below.

B) To increase efficiency when polishing the sanded areas, always use a lamb-
skin  polishing  pad ( ). As  an alternative, our SOFTouch TopWool polishing
pads  ( ),  designed  especially  for  scratch-resistant  paints, can be  used.
These high quality polishing pads made from natural fibres increase the perfor-
mance of S17 single-step polishing compound while simultaneously minimizing
heat development on these sensitive surfaces.
